PRIDE OF VIETNAM: UAVS DESIGNED AND MANUFACTURED BY VIETNAMESE ENGINEERS, WITH MODELS NOW EXPORTED TO THE U.S. MILITARY
Hera, a versatile UAV that can operate in various terrains, is foldable, easily transportable, and has already been exported to the United States.
On August 16 in Hanoi, the Party Committee of the Ministry of Science and Technology held its 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025–2030 term.
On the sidelines of the event, major enterprises such as Viettel, CT Group, Vconex, and Realtime Robotics Vietnam showcased a series of science and technology products designed and developed by Vietnamese engineers.
CT UAV (a member of CT Group) introduced a 1:6 scale model of its passenger electric UAV prototype, named CT-2W1. This large unmanned aerial vehicle uses eVTOL technology (electric vertical takeoff and landing), and boasts a localization rate of 80% in its components.

According to a CT UAV representative, the CT-2W1 can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h, carry 5 passengers, and has a flight time of up to 2 hours. Production is expected to begin at the end of 2025 or early 2026.
In terms of functionality, this UAV is intended for urban air mobility (UAM) applications. It will become a crucial part of both UAM (urban) and RAM (regional) networks, helping reduce congestion on ground transportation infrastructure and contributing to the development of smart and sustainable urban environments.

Luxury tourism experience: The CT-2W1 offers a premium sightseeing experience from above, ideal for resorts, islands, or scenic landmarks.
Regional air transportation: A perfect solution for short flights, connecting airports to city centers or industrial zones to satellite cities.
Smart city integration: Designed to integrate into modern unmanned transportation ecosystems, CT-2W1 can automatically connect with UAV stations and landing pads, optimizing operation and management.
A representative from CT UAV acknowledged that developing the CT-2W1 involved many challenges, as the company is a pioneer in this field in Vietnam.
This company aims to revolutionize urban transportation and tourism not just in Vietnam, but across Southeast Asia, with its passenger UAV products.
Representatives presented and explained their products to delegates and visitors attending the exhibition.
Vietnamese Drones Reaching Higher and Farther
Hera, another drone product created entirely by Vietnamese intelligence, was also on display at the event and received strong praise internationally.
Hera is a drone developed and manufactured by Realtime Robotics Vietnam (RtR), a Vietnamese technology company. It’s highly rated for its multi-terrain capabilities, compact foldable design, and ease of transport – and notably, it has already been exported to the U.S., serving military applications.

Hera is compact, can mount up to four cameras, and folds to fit in a backpack for easy single-person transport. It has a payload capacity of up to 15kg. Its flight time is 56 minutes unloaded, 50 minutes with a 1kg payload, and 16 minutes with a 15kg payload, supporting uses in security, defense, search and rescue, and industry.
The device can perform target recognition, tracking, focusing, and imaging, with a data collection capacity three times greater than average. It can fly for nearly an hour in almost all weather conditions, day or night, even in smoke, rain, or dust.
Hera is a “Made in Vietnam” product, 100% designed and manufactured by RtR engineers – from the frame, arms, circuit boards, to control software. Most of the team graduated from technical universities in Vietnam.
